Traci Carte, Ph.D.
Conference Chair

Dr. Carte is the VP of Conferences for AIS. She has also served in various conference leadership roles for ICIS and AMCIS. She has conducted research in the area of technology and leadership.

Matthew L. Nelson, CPA, Ph.D.
Professor, Department of Accounting & Business Information Systems, Illinois State University

Dr. Nelson teaches in the area of Information Systems, Business Analytics, IT Strategy.  His research interests include business rules technology, open source software, business analytics, technology adoption and diffusion, vertical standards development consortia and the value of IT.

Debbie Seifert, Ph.D.
Chair, Department of Accounting, Illinois State University

Dr. Seifert’s teaching areas are cost and managerial accounting theory. Her research interests are accounting ethics and whistle-blowing. She is also a CPA and a CMA with work experience in both public and private accounting.

Bahae Samhan, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor, Department of Accounting and BIS, Illinois State University

Dr. Samhan is an experienced teacher in the areas of Management Information Systems. He is also certified by Microsoft as a software engineer and a database administrator. His research on health IT appeared in variety of quality research journals and top conference proceedings.

Elahe Javadi, Ph.D.
Associate Professor, School of Information Technology, Illinois State University

Dr. Javadi teaches in the area of Project Management, Systems Development, and Applied Data Mining. In her research, she examines the design and effectiveness of electronic brainstorming and online discussion tools.  She is also passionate about community engagement and together with her students, she runs workshops on mobile application development, Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and robotics for high school and middle school students in the area.

Mehdi Sookhak, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor, School of Information Technology, Illinois State University

Dr. Mehdi sookhak joined Illinois State University in 2019 as an assistant professor of cybersecurity. His research interests include Cloud, Mobile Cloud, Fog Computing, Blockchain, and Smart Vehicles. To date, he has published more than 40 journal and conference papers and has more than 1,600 citations.
